Inspiration Through Conversation Poem by Nancy M. Godfrey

Inspiration Through Conversation

Rating: 5.0

(off the cuff)

I want to absorb
Honey sunlight
Pouring rain
The coldness
that makes our breath
visible
The warmth of passion...
The pain
The sorrow
The joys
The rage
The teardrops that linger
-hidden-
under clouds of pain
I may not understand...
But my senses are real
Tactile sensations convey...
Literally I 'feel'
I am influenced
My mind is receptive
to arduous or soft messages
Touching words that float
on a concrete tablet
The blinking life span
of life...
Putting feelings on parchment
is an act of communication
It is intimacy that we exchange...
Texture, hardness and weight
I long for the touch and feel
Of words.
