Inspiring Words

I envy inspiring words
Intervals in major thirds
A poem in the making perhaps?
I'll try to extend my flaps
Wings beneath my aging maps
Realm of future imaginations
Tomorrow's new generations
I dip my pen in their creations
Birth and rise of young nations
Slightly as it may be
My apple far from their tree
For tomorrow belongs to our children
Future hopes pinned to their pen
I tread so ever lightly with mine
Avoiding every twist in my spine
I barely reach the edge of blossoms
Hovering at cold winter's bottoms
Back to my poem's road excursion
Old man bluffing diversion
I try to manipulate inspiring words
Filling my tank up two thirds
Enough fuel for my lungs to breathe
Old man vetting memories keys
Inspiring words line up on queue
Like smoke escaping my furnace flue
Charing logs my dull- Emotion
Crawling desires my slowest -Motion
Wringing dry my hearts' every- Lotion
My life's purpose but one- Notion
To drink from poetry need's -Potion
Poetic satire in full - Devotion
Settling my final- Commotion

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Walter Scott

The moon's on the lake, and the mist's on the brae,
And the Clan has a name that is nameless by day;
Then gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
Gather, gather, gather Grigalach!
