Instant Gratitification Poem by Catherine Inscore

Instant Gratitification

We carry on
Take out the garbage
Dance in the moonlight
Pay taxes
Sing happy songs
To our wee ones
While wondering
About tomorrow’s woes
The threat of what really is
Not terrorism
Or war They lie about…
But the war on poverty
Stupidity
Ideology –indignity
Self-serving all mine!
A gimme’ society
Gotta have it now!
Someone’s gonna pay for it later
