Intelligence Poem by kel davis

Intelligence

intelligence
you're a damsel that breathes fire
without you, true beauty cannot be appreciated
with you, beauty can be lost in everything
thoughts thinking thoughts-neverending-
happiness does not think, it smiles

intelligence
you're incapable of laughter
humor is over-thought and written off as inane
the satisfaction of being proved right is happiness
right or wrong, true or false, that is how you're defined
judgement is the makeup on your cunning face

intelligence
you're infused with emotional insecurities
as much as you try to keep your lips cold
an emotive pink blush will occasionally show through
your mind is strong but your heart is weak
when death comes for you-will you think or feel

will you search your mind or your soul

where do you think you'll go-
surely nowhere, i bet
where do you want to go-
with your heart, i know
