Intent Poem by Cody Osterberg

Intent

So I told you,
The way it will be.
So I told you,
What could happen to me.

So I told you,
I'm running away,
To a new land,
Where I could be lead astray.

So I told you,
That I can't stay.
So I to told you,
That I'm leaving today.

So I told you,
What I'm going to do.
So I told you,
That I'll be missing you.

So I told you,
I'll think of you all the time.
So I told you,
I'm so happy to call you mine.

So I told you,
Don't you ever forget.
So I told you,
I'll be home when my goals have been met.

Now I'll ask you,
Will you wait here for me?
Now I'll ask you,
Will you pray here for me?

Now I'll ask you,
Am I doing the right thing?
Now I'll ask you,
Will you tell me what you think?

Now I'll ask you,
Do you understand?
Now I'll ask you,
Are my intentions far too grand?

Now I'll ask you,
Do you still love me?
Because I can't deny,
I will always love thee.
