Intermezzo D'Amour Poem by Sandra Feldman

Intermezzo D'Amour

Rating: 4.0

I could have,
Would have,
But didn't,
Love you on another scale,
There where the Sea rushes
And feelings are crystal frail,
There where the Moon smiles,
And Passion lives,
Totally unveiled,
There where no heart has gone,
A Love unknown,
A Fool's Tale.

I love this poem. It's suffused with D-e-s-i-r-e but it's not about quick satisfaction. It's about the growth of desire like a flower not yet in bloom, it's about nurturing this growth until the full bloom summons fulfillment and not before. It's difficult to wait and postpone; but something inside the one desiring must grow to full term as well. Attend to your inner self, Prospective Lover, make yourself worthy of the blessings promised by this encounter, this work in progress

I just love what this poem does - it gives me faith in the power of words to express the subtlest of feelings - it addresses those who most need to hear the wise counsel of poetry - it puts us in the special zone of poetry where words and reality are one experience. And I don't feel anxious or competitive, I don't feel the need to WIN an argument. It's as if you put a bowl of fresh lovely fruits - apples, grapes, oranges - on a table, and stood aside knowing people would come of their own accord to eat this goodness.

Passion does alive with love unknown. Excelling writing basing on personal feelings. Nice job on sharing.
