International Day For The Older Aged Poem by Dr John Celes

They slogged for family and their home;
They did their duty to their spouse;
They served their nation, made it proud;
They need attention aged now!

The food they eat is just handfuls;
The dress they wear looks so simple;
They do not ask for distraction;
They need some love and talk and care.

Lo! What they get is not enough;
Many are simply neglected;
The bed-ridden ones suffer most;
They plead and pray to God for help!

May youngsters change their attitude;
May God change their fate and plight!
