Into Death Poem by Allyson Gordon

Into Death

So close to death
But just out of reach
I can taste the end
But just can’t cross over

Why is it I break down
Everytime I contemplate suicide?
Why can’t I let go?
When there’s nothing here for me anymore

Have you ever loved me?
If not, it’s too late now
All will be lost tonight
For my life I will take

I don’t want to leave you behind
But what choice do I have?
Please don’t weep for me
For there is no place on earth for me anymore

I am drawn to death
The call is too strong
This is my fate
I shall take it with pride
