Intuition Poem by Lee Crowell

Intuition

Rating: 5.0

she prepared broccoli tempura
and acorn squash soup
she later learned one of the guests was vegetarian

she walked into a room and immediately knew
the man in the corner would be hers
before they had even spoken

she would imagine her boy growing up
to be the curly haired scholarly type
before he was conceived

but when the swindlers prepared
to move against her
she never saw the evil

and she was unaware
how her husband and son
swiftly thwarted the plan

she cut flowers from her garden
to attend the funeral
and prayed for the saving of their souls

Lee - the poem is beautiful...this is poetry, not mere verse...The combination of the concrete and specific with the abstract as in the last stanza is wonderful...A great poem, Lee.
