Iranian Embassy 1980 Poem by Sam Chorley

Iranian Embassy 1980

Rating: 5.0

When I got onto the floor,
slam went the big door,

As scared as a deer being chased by a lion,
Hey picked up the gun that seemed as heavy as iron,

With sirens in the distance,
It was hard to fight resistance,

He was tied to the stairs,
As the terrorists were in pairs,

He made a sacrifice that put him in doom,
From the room above you heard the boom,

As he made his first demand,
He shouted a command,
Get the cops away, Or you will pay,

As we heard the first boom,
We all felt the doom,

They shouted he's dead!
As they covered up his head,

The squad came in,
Only the hostages survived,
A terrorist tried to surrender,
But he'd already been killed,

As the fear entered there murderous bodies,
One tried to escape,
But they spotted his exempt,

This poem was based on the brave individuals that were taken hostage at the Iranian Embassy in 1980
