Iron Links In An Iron Chain Poem by Tamsin Burnett

Iron Links In An Iron Chain

Rating: 1.5

An Iron chain has lots of links
without which it would cease to be
one link could never be a chain you see,
Lifes an Iron Chain.

I need you and You need me
to help the world make sense
Every life is interlinked hence
We're all like iron Links.

Sometimes i feel hurt
a bit to often I think
I often feel like a twisty link
In an Iron Chain

When people hurt me
I should be strong and laugh
but often i just want to take
my toaster in the bath
I'm not an Iron link.

Often I feel happy and high
like I'm floaty like a bubble
but then I crash and get all in a muddle
A bit like an Iron chain

I've often been twisted, hurt, betrayed
by those I trusted and loved
forgotten, side thought, corner shoved
Just like an Iron Chain

I ponder deep thoughts you know
I'm not readable like a book
You don't understand, but take a look
We're all Iron Links

We're all the same but not just so
Some shine differently from the rest
There are no weirdos, last or best
Just links, in an Iron Chain

I think and breath everyday you know
I feel and need things too
Not just water, shelter, food, but him and her and you
We're all like Iron Links

I can't find words to speak sometimes
This doesn't mean I have nothing to say
I'll write it all down to tell on a different day

Do you really know all about me?
No, same about you for me, so
I'll tell you what i do know
We're all like Iron Links.
