Irwin And I Poem by Martin Paul Patton

Irwin And I

Rating: 4.3

I have a pet snake I named Irwin
He's named after that guy on TV
Who chases all sorts of vermin
But my pet is safe here with me

While Irwin and I dont always see eye to eye
He bites me now and again
I feed him his mice
And I hope he thinks twice
About biting his masters hand

I dont think its malice I dont think its spite
In fact I think we're alike
For Irwin and I love our rodents
And we'll fight for every bite

I really didn't want to give this poem an 8 because I found the subject and the thought 'distasteful'. But I have to admit to the poems creativity and the author's cleverness at the end. God, how I hate myself! GW62
