Is The Poet A Mad Man?
Is the poet a mad man
And poetry his madness,
The mad, mad people
Mad after
Maddening the whole world?
Lo, what do I see,
Hamlet's smaller brother Indian Paglet too a poet,
Writing verses on the sands
And on the walls with a charcoal!
The mad, mad people
Madly after
Maddening the whole world.
Oh, a world peopled by Hamlets and Paglets,
English Hamlets and Indian Madlets!
