Is This Fair Poem by Courtney Beaudry

Is This Fair

I love you, I hate you
When will you understand
I hold you, I leave you
Did you even care
Can't take much more
Is this fair
Why

I lay upon my bed
Afraid to move
To utter a single sound
How long has it been
Lost track of time around

Kept awake
By those thoughts of you
Uncertainty creeps through me
But inside I know that

I love you, I hate you
When will you understand
I hold you, I leave you
Did you even care
Can't take much more
Is this fair
Why

Liar, cheater, coward
Lover, companion, friend
These are what you've been to me
Part of me despises you
But part of me loves you

I love you, I hate you
When will you understand
I hold you, I leave you
Did you even care
Can't take much more
Is this fair
Why

Why me, why did it have to be
A nightmare
Halfway through a dream
Angel of darkness
Come take me away
To a place where I can be free
