Ishvara Pranidhana Poem by Marc O'Maolain

Ishvara Pranidhana

Ishvara Pranidhana

Surrender ego and gain the world
Beyond my self, the Self unfurled
Seeing the Divine in all
Beyond the dogma, beyond the wall

Of ignorance, of hate and strife
Of living, being the new Life
That shines within us like a sun
A light, a beam of God as One

For all are One and One is all
Weak and strong, the great and small
In all beings I see myself
Be one with all, put on the shelf

My ego and its tricks and games
To see that we are all the same
Hindu, Muslim, Jew and Taoist
Christian, Wiccan, and the Nowist

Within us all Ishvara shines
We look within for the Divine
Only we can see it true
No other can tell us what to do
Or how to get there, we don’t know
The path on which another must go

I’ll concentrate upon myself
Let the others choose their health
Or harm or karma they must see
Just how Ishvara to them must be

And at the end we all will meet
All paths converge into one street
Of love and light, pure, sweet and true
And on that path I’ll meet with You
