Issues And Debates Poem by Elisabeth LuesleyGreen

Issues And Debates

I hear the world is driven by,
Nuclear power not the wind turbine.
We try to be 'resourceful' but we fail.
Hear mother earth weep with our betrayal.
You blame the money but still you receive
We're still none the wiser and naive.
If we open our eyes we will see
A world of greed and misery.

I hear the world is in desperate need,
So many live in poverty.
We try to be giving but yet we take
Greed is our vice, our human mistake.
We have all the food to feed the world,
But we claim its not enough to round.
We want to believe but question religion
we prove our existence with science and precision.

What is this world coming to?
