It Could Only Happen In Cornwall Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

It Could Only Happen In Cornwall

Rating: 5.0

She moved from the city to Cornwall
To live out her days in an old Cornish house
But she discovered soon after she moved in
That things in the garden kept being moved about
Vegetables uprooted, while toadstools sprouted overnight
Apples eaten while still on the branch
Washing left out, was made dirty again
And flower heads were found, made into costumes
She blamed the local cats, foxes and birds
The children and the dog up the road
But what she didn't know, was in fact
Most nights the piskies were having a ball.

A beautiful poem for sure... Makes me miss my days travelling across England in my youth... Never ran into any Piskies though! ~Ray.
