There is a sadness
so hard to express
so full of distress
of missing a friend
envisioned by your side
'till the end
You so miss their hello
and their spirit
and their care
You wish you were near it
and they were there
But you can't find them anywhere
and the feeling hurts inside
and feels so unfair
The heartache you feel
reflects the extent of your care
but also of your need
which you didn't quite know
Until they disappeared
For how long? you don't know
And after this truth is laid bare
All the more you hurt
and wish they were there
