It Needs To Rain Again
It needs to rain again.
Know why I like the rain?
When it rains, and I am standing in it,
For that moment, the rest of the world isn't there.
Just me doing what I love; playing in the rain
For that moment, all my fears, all the drama, they are gone.
It needs to rain again.
I love the rain, too, Brittany. It allows me a chance to feel free, almost washes away the pain, sorrow. Love the poem. I am ever so sorry the poem brings to mind your mom. I am 100% convinced my daughter would say and feel the same. In fact, its for her...I wrote it from her perspective while I tried to understand why she feels as she does and why its difficult to believe otherwise; But Brittany, I can guarantee you, your mom may have made a million mistakes, but she loves you. I love my daughter. And I've spent close to a year now working on becoming the kind of mother she deserves in the hopes that one day she will reach back when I reach to her.
