It's A Long Way

It's a long way I've come,
It's a long way to fall,
It's a long time now past,
Since I heard the morning call.

It's a long time to remember,
All that's ever gone before,
The first kiss of true love,
Before an open door.

It's a long breath to take,
When the world is waged in war,
It's a long step to take,
To be the same as once before.

It's a heavy load to heave,
To make the world a better place,
No sign of any light ahead,
No act of mine to alter or displace.

It's a long road to tread,
By me and all of you,
To seek a newborn world ahead,
In vacant sight and distant hue.
