It's Dark, Where Are You? Poem by Mackenzie Scholte

It's Dark, Where Are You?

My fist claw at the darkness
Before my eyes,
I don't know how to find the light,
But I know it's hidden
In this pitch blackness
My fingers grope the air around me
Hoping you'll materialize,
My mind reels because I sense you,
But I can't touch you
I can't see you
I can't feel you
Except that I love you and it scares me
As this darkness crushes me
I wish I knew where you are
Because I think
That if we were together
The light would be a little brighter
This darkness not so blinding
