It's What You Leave Out



I listed a hundred names
as in an epic:
brought all but buffs no joy.

I added detract:
ended too many in -ac(k) ,
like Ponti- and Paranoi-.

I left off the -ac(k) :
became more epicist,
less hack.

I said, 'A hundred dogs,
including Ponti- and Paranoi-':
brought overjoy.
