It's Winter Time Poem by Lewis Dowell, III

It's Winter Time

It's winter time,
I've nestled up snuggly
Under the burnished sky
Collecting thoughts of new poems
For the season;
The dreariness wets my appetite
For the glorious return of my favorite time-
Ice water permeates my soul like a liquid fire,
Burning the imagination and lavishing
The gifts for an elaborate line-
The picturesque scenes of yesteryear,
Have passed away giving over a pleasantry
Softer to the minds eye and wonderful
To the hues and rays of a spirit free in the wind-
Ah yes, the wintry season is here,
Now I hibernate from the throng of warmer tension,
And sink away into the awesome abyss
Of Mother Natures resurrecting kiss,
And reminisce the bliss of forlorn cold-
