It's Yours To Choose Poem by Jude Uchella

It's Yours To Choose

Rating: 3.0

Deep within shells lies free will,
infant at birth and childhood
feeble like legs of aged Achebe
jailed with motive for greater good.

Then, your minds new to good and bad,
sought sophia solely from mom and dad,
who seemed to know about everything,
who admonished daily to groom your being.

Now, though they trod paths of earth,
and yearly celebrate your birth
the parents tether is on the loose
O man, its your turn to choose.

Go wild and free and naughty,
have friends, to others be haughty
party hard and gulp gallons of booze
O man, its yours to choose.

Lead a simple life with goals
strive to help indigent souls
believe that you'll never lose
O man, its yours to choose.

Lavish money and visit brothels
flaunt Papa's wealth to attract girls,
live the same way just like fools
it's yours to choose.

Do the right thing at the right time
don't be part of anything called crime
stay chaste like the Muse
it's yours to choose.

The freedom given you to live and explore
is same that leads to Mr Death's door
misbehave and things will fall apart
O man, you have to play your part.
