It Was As If Poem by David Harris

It Was As If

Rating: 3.5

In Loving Memory of Tiger 1981 - 1999

Tears fell today from my eyes
as I remembered a beloved pet
that had died many years ago.
We kept all his toys,
mementoes of his life.
Maybe I should have
discarded them a long time ago,
but I just couldn’t do it.
It was as if I was waiting for him
to come home again.
Silly that may sound,
a sad reflection on me,
but I still feel he is here
with us everyday,
and still I cannot bring myself
to throw his toys away.

Very touching David and with all the soothing and happy days our extended family members give us we are very saddened by their loss. We call them pets but truly they are our extended family members. I love your heartfelt poem brother.....

I know that feeling David, I have kept all the collars and leads from my past doggy days. I feel it is unlucky to throw them away. A lovely piece of writing, and a little poignant too. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
