It Was Never You Poem by Merl Austin

It Was Never You

My first poem, actually trying to rhyme.
Wrote this after a very moving service at church.

You were never the cause of my pain
To blame you for everything, how vain
Your heart breaks for the broken
It’s taken me time to soak in
That it was never you and will never be
You’ve displayed your love so clearly
I blame myself for not seeing
The pain in my life, you’re redeeming!
