Its There Waiting Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Its There Waiting

Great storms may rise great winds may blow
Life and limb may sever
Kingdoms may come kingdoms may go
Christ endures forever

Eternal God eternal King
Upon life’s throne above
Forever will creation sing
His victory songs of love

What does it mean today on earth?
Where will this Kingdom be?
Through Jesus’ death and second birth
These things we’ll surely see

We’ll see because of Heaven’s grace
Through love’s eternal law
Through Jesus’ blood we’ll see God’s face
Beyond His sacred door

Ceaseless, will Jesus Kingdom stand
Endless love’s sweet refrain
Upheld by His almighty hand
Interminable to reign

While earthly kingdoms boast their slaves
And death is ever guest
Through Christ there’ll be no stinking graves
In God’s eternal rest

Breathtaking joy awaits His queen
Laughter, pleasures galore
No ear has heard nor eye has seen
Such goodness yet in store

There is no need on earth to die
Seek Jesus’ face above
Live for that place reserved on high
And reap God’s harvest of love
