Jake Poem by Andrew Aston

Jake

JAKE..31st Aug.011
I say i have a son, his photo's on my wall
But i don't know how he's changed, how grown or how tall
I can't be there to pick him up from a fall
I can't teach him how to throw or to kick a ball

I won't get to see him go to his first day at school
I won't get to teach him not to be a fool
A fool like me who get's into trouble
And has to rebuild his life out of rubble

So in this poem sealed with a kiss
Ill say some thing's that i might miss
Work hard at school, smoking's not cool
Live your life by your mum's rule

All way's go home at the time you're told
Wrap up warm when it get's cold
Stick's and stone's may break bone's
This is how they say it go's

So called name's shouldn't hurt
When you get older girl's will flirt
If thing's progress use protection
This will protect you from infection

You could support s.c.f.c
That's up to you though that's just me
Would you jump of a bridge if your mate's said so
Listen son the answer's no!

You've got to think for yourself
Eat your veggie's for good health
When crossing road's look left and right
It doesn't matter if your black or white

I know all of this is muddled up
But you have to learn this as a pup
It's just a same that i can't be there
But sometime's son life isn't fair

I can't give you wisdom that i'v learned
Don't play with fire because you'll get burned
I can't steer you away from trouble or prison
No all of this i will be missing

But don't worry little man, life ain't so bad
I am the only one who is your dad
Don't do as i did, don't make my mistake's
Be a good lad what ever it take's

Do as your mum tell's you, abide by the law
I'v made mistake's before you so i know the score
I love you my son, your strong in my heart
But circumstance happened and pulled us apart

Though i promise you this kid, i will all way's care
And if you ever need your dad ill all way's be there
I miss you pee pee lot's of love your dad xXx
