January 24th Poem by Susan from Baltimore

January 24th

Rating: 5.0

It was the 24th day of the year
And the angels were feeling artistic
A creation was now in the works
Their efforts would be synergistic
This time they would aim for perfection
Use the best of the best they could find
They would make him with love and affection
So that he would be tender and kind
From the sunset they took the locks of his hair
The colors of copper and fire
And his voice a sweet melodious sound
Was handpicked from god’s own choir
They took azure blue from the ocean
And with it made beautiful eyes
And from Solomon they begged some wisdom
So their babe would be fair and be wise
They took pearls from the shells of the oysters
To give him a smile that would glisten
And sweet little ears made from butterflies
To be sure he would actively listen
And then as the angels were working
Hippocrates happened by
“Let’s give him the hands of a healer”
It was done in the blink of an eye.

But then Rembrandt saw all the commotion
With this project he was so impressed
That he painted the heart of an artist
And gently placed it inside of the chest
When they finished their “Piece de Resistance”
The angels were filled with delight
But they yielded to God’s insistence
“Send him to Robert and Susie tonight”
Now years have passed the babe is grown
He now has children of his own
And children’s children at his knee
I’m sure the angels did foresee
His benefit to all mankind
He’s strong of heart and strong of mind
A healer, an artist, a poet, a lover
A man who is unmatched by any other
The angels still take pride in that work
They watch him from above
And guide him with a gentle hand
With tenderness and love
Today is the anniversary
Of that 24th day of the year
And I’m lucky that my life has been touched
By that man so precious and dear.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY XOXOXO
