Japanese Bamboo Friend Poem by Paul Sebastian

Japanese Bamboo Friend

Rating: 5.0

She sits potted in my balcony
Dressed youthful green, all leafy
Greets me every morn with a smile
Arms and palms opened: plant-style
Awakes happily with sunrise, begins the day
In a gentle breeze, swinging arms: sway
Subtly, asking water, to quench thirst
Rustled thank-you for fulfilled request

I visit again, returning home, late evening
Face forlorn, dress ruffled, arms drooping
Mother moon had come, to send all to slumber
But gently swayed, saying: Goodnight, brother!
For twenty years long, staying as a companion
God’s peace-messenger: my bamboo friend.

Beautifully rhyming poem on a lovely plant.... the evergreen shrub with pliable stem that can be kept indoors and that thrives even without soil and with just water..! . I too am fond of that plant and it decorates the interiors of my home! Enjoyed reading it!
