Je T'Amie Mon Cherie Poem by Keli Mims

Je T'Amie Mon Cherie

The waves crash onto the sandy beach,
The sun dries water off our skin like a leach.
The warm sand covers our wet feet,
We dance around to the background beat.
You take my freezing hand to your bare chest,
You give me a look and say 'I love you' in one breath.
I feel your heart beat under my wet hand,
We stumble on the unstable sandy land,
To the waves that crash on our feet,
We hold each other close for body heat.
The water is cold but we're warm together,
As we go deeper the water feels better.
I cling to you as you hold me tight,
And we start to feel all we tried to fight.
My hand is at the nape of your pale neck,
I stare into your eyes and give you a peck.
My legs wrapped around your waist,
Each second, your lips is all I can taste.
One hand is in my chill damp hair,
My hand brushes your face of your cares.
Your other hand moves to my shoulder,
We stop after that first kiss our desire is smoldered.
Your deep green eyes burn into mine,
And for a second everything stops even time.
You hold me in the middle of the lake,
There's a piece of me I offer and you take.
I can just feel the taste of your lips,
Then you move both hands to my hips.
I move mine to around your neck,
And again I feel that first peck.
I bite my bottom lip trying to resist,
And another wave sprays up mist.
You smile and say 'finally' in a low voice,
You wipe away my tear with your hand so moist.
I pull us into the shallow water under,
In the water we feel rain and hear thunder.
I kiss you then we pull up to catch our breath,
I pull back and put my head on your chest.
You carry me around your waist to dry land,
You hold then kiss my pale hand.
The pull me in and whisper 'Je t'amie mon cherie'.
