Jealous Poem by Zoe Adams

Jealous

Rating: 5.0

The little green monster,
Sat on my shoulder,
Watching in angst,
As my peers get bolder.

Living my dream,
My fantasies,
Writing and writing,
Famous across seas.

Books and poems,
Rhymes and prose,
I'm sitting here watching,
As the feeling grows.

Bigger and bigger,
Overwhelming me,
Finding the doors,
But lost the key.

Can't get it open,
Getting too late,
My chance is passing,
I don't want to wait.

No rhythm,
No rhyme,
No plan,
No line,

No future,
No now,
So confused,
Cannot allow.

This is my future,
This is my fate,
I will not be ruled,
By just one mistake.

Very good poem, well thought out. Your attention to spelling and structure is so refreshing and evidence of many enjoyable poems ahead. Read mine - A Writers Dilemma – Adeline
