Jesus, My Good Shepherd Poem by Dr John Celes

Jesus, My Good Shepherd

‘All who are over-burdened feel, '
‘O come to me, ' says Jesus Lord;
‘For light's my load, cross I carry;
I'll give you rest eternally.'

When storms of life blow ruthlessly,
And everything seems ruined, lost;
Call to the Lord who calms the seas,
Rebukes the wind for being fierce!

When you feel you have lost your way,
And trudge across perilous vales,
The Good Shepherd will you retrieve,
And place you on the road aright.

When disease strikes your body, mind,
And living turns a misery;
Open your heart and call the Lord;
He heals the sick by just a word.

When devils tempt you endlessly,
And peace is lost at work and home,
Emmanuel brings back the joy,
And peace you need to life enjoy.

Lord Jesus is my Good Shepherd;
I need not fear when He's beside;
He takes His sheep to land with grass,
And water by the river-side.
