Jim, Light My Fire Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Jim, Light My Fire

Rating: 5.0

The Doors playing on the stereo
Jims voice singing 'Come on baby light my fire'
Knowing eyes smile at me as I say goodbye

...

Superstar, dreamy Queen
absurd patterns weaving
through time
divine
won't you tell me if you
could be mine
on the waves of love and disco hearts of rad colours
dark red, purple, blue
in the night

In one way it was just
the other day
even though it wont happen until tomorrow
but we already know this.
I don't ask why
I just follow the movements cause
they'll take me to where I've already gone
in another form
another memory
over there
When will it end?

We're having a good time kid
even when the walls turn blood red dripping into my palms
i hear my name called
come back
come back to me
I swim towards the pastel colours of pink and yellow dreams
melting into familiarity

come back
come back to us
heavenly voices spoken and heard in oblivion
bringing me back to something real

Why, hello hello
I have returned dear friends
lets paint with smiles and laughter
[come on baby light my fire]

Come on.....
Oh, here it comes again
Come on.....
losing it, losing you
am I you?
Come on baby light my fire

Jim pulls me back under to a place I can't call myself
I am him
I am she
I am nothing
I am everything
I know who I am: I am no one
but a series of dreams and psychedelic waves of thoughts that have existed for a thousand years on a beach where blue waves sparkle up and down glittering sand
and the sky glows and moves like a beating heart

The film keeps turning
keeps playing the television series of humanity in little silver balls that ring the truth and echo the same song back to the past
through the future
and surrounds me in now.

Time melts into a senseless object to be beaten many times with a hammer of insanity
cause it's round and goes round
and around
and around
and around
and around

Come back, come back to us
those heavenly voices, I hear my angels calling me home to something real.

Ahahahaha, oh lets live in laughter and pastel colours
of true love in pink and yellow hearts
this dream, oblivion of-
This Is Happiness.
[come on baby light my fire]
I look at you, look at me
look at us - (who are we? am i you? are you me?)
Come on baby...
Oh here we go again
Come on baby...
waves of laughter cause we know too well whats coming

Come on baby light my fire

Jim, when will this ride come to a stop?

'Darling, it's a carousal, it never stops'
'Darling, strange days have found us and you're a 20th century fox'

O.K Jim, take me under again. I fall free in your sound.

O.K Jim, come on baby, where will we be when this song ends?
where will we be?

Come on baby light my fire.

heavenly voices spoken and heard in oblivion, bringing me back to something real. Very beautifully scripted with mind blowing personal expression. Nice poem on sharing.

Sounds like a good trip to me! Getting lost in the music and the atmosphere it creates riding on the soundwaves into an out of an imaginative dream. This prose has a deep spiritual & philosphical base to it which elevates and takes it to a new dimension. Great stuff.
