Jimbo's Song Poem by Bonnie Harding

Jimbo's Song

As I was growing up, I think I always knew
There was something special I was here to do
It was always there, in the back of my mind
Flashing me a message, like a neon sign

My dad taught me to sing when I was three
But something about music clicked with me
I could feel the vibrations deep in my soul
had to learn all about it, it became my goal

Got me a guitar and taught myself to play
I tried hour after hour, and day after day
my fingers aching but I can't put it down
The first time in my life I'm on solid ground

It's a natural high when the song starts to flow
the music, the rhythm, the beats all I know
for me this is it, part of my life's destiny
All I have to do now is to believe in me

I know there's bridges to cross, dues to pay
a time for work and a time for play
I won't give up, you wait, you'll see
someday people will pay to listen to me
