Job Insecurity Poem by Ima Ryma

Gov hired a guard to watch at night,
Then hired a department to train,
Then hired a team for oversight,
Then hired a group to staff the chain
Of command, so the guard might know
How his job did upward connect
Through the administrative flow
For full efficiency effect.
For hire of a guard, gov did do
More bureaucracy to keep track
Of the guard's job, and follow through
With hiring experts for feedback.

Some gov cutback was then required,
And so the night watchman was fired.
