John Mccornack’s Life Poem by Marilyn Lott

John Mccornack’s Life

Rating: 5.0

Amish influence from his mother’s side
Has given John a unique perspective
He’s ridden in a horse and buggy
Watching a lifestyle that is very selective

4-H Club was a wonderful influence too
For a young impressionable kid like John
He had a prize Black Angus calf he raised
For his love of animals was strong

Sports was a part of his school years
He was fit and involved with his team
Something a kid can always build on
And establishes a strong self-esteem

Plowing that red-dirt soil, you know
Was part of his life from the start
And farming with family was imbedded
While growing up he always took part

Sunday dinners and holidays
Brought John’s family close together
At his grandparents country home
For as long as he can remember

He was lean and strong and handsome
Young and just beginning his adult life
Looking for the perfect woman for him
Eventually he found an adoring wife

Being a surveying engineer so young
Pointed him in the right direction
Because when choosing his career
It helped him make the final selection

So he grew up and raised a family
Two kids and and a beautiful wife
This, my friends is a quick summation
Of the story of John McCornack’s life!
