I have found much of my life to be a two edged sword. For some reason I can see deeply into the problems and dilemmas of others. So many times I have seen couples break up and it pains me. Yet sometimes it turns out to be the best for either or both parties. This poem is for those women who have found it necessary to take the path of separation.

She looks with silent sadness
at the love that might have been.
Cannot see the gladness
of her future scene.

The step she takes to separate
herself from exploitation,
is like revolt, a desperate
attempt somehow to find salvation.

Like all change from times ago,
the wrench is hard to take.
This journey is the way to go,
a step that she must take.

Feelings fool the young at heart
and blind them to what is.
First flush says, 'Never part,
stay, forever bliss.'

Love must weigh upon the mind
and truth must be the guide.
Love must answer kind with kind
each must have their pride.
