Journey Of A Stream Poem by Reena Puri

Journey Of A Stream

Rating: 0.5

Like a fetus in a mother's womb
the tiny stream grew
Getting life from the frozen glacier pool.
Come one summer
Leaving the serene comforts of his
Mother Nature
Tinkling and gurgling
started his journey of life
He travelled passing grassy meadows and ice cold forest pools
As yet confident and sparkling for he knew
Mother Nature was not afar
To nurture his life with her bounty which was selfless as only a mother can be
The tiny stream had now grown
Meeting his brethren from other parts
Joining hands and forging ahead
into a slender meandering river that had a depth
From a nurtured precious he became a precious nurturer to other lives
On wards he continued ravaged by harsh realities of life
some time a berated sluggish sliver of life and at times cursed
for the raging tides he brought
With longing he thought of the carefree days by the glacier pool
The uncaring mostly selfish world
Heaped indignities galore very rarely giving him some thing to live for
His world was now a bracken pool of misery
Struggling to find a ray of light
He struggled on and on and finally found
the union with that all encompassing Ocean of life.

The river thought
would he once again
be born as vapor condensed on a mountain top
Finding its way to
A glacier pool to start the journey of his life once again

Alas river were it so easy in life
to think how we wish to lead our lives!
So you have to go on and come back to this journey of life
