Journey Towards The Light Poem by Ysanna John

Journey Towards The Light

1.The mountains loom way up high,
Summits stretch to touch the sky.
The winding, slippery slopes so steep,
The few footholds are hard to keep.

2.The deep valley go swiftly down
To dark, dangerous paths unknown.
Untrod paths with grasses so sweet
Has subtle rock sthat cut the feet.

3.The streams swiftly and wide,
And violent the raging tide.
The deep waters run dark and cold
Lurk with unknown dangers untold.

4.Your seas rage so foamy wild,
The rough waves your vessel beat
Lashed by the swelling surging tide;
With boisterous force all hope defeat

5.The naked desert dry and bare
Where certain death seem so near,
And the hot blistering burning sand
Stretch mirages across your land.

6.The hard night is dark and long,
Mirthless is the nagging song
That keeps the uneasy mind awake
And slumber from the body takes.

7.There is one who can calm the seas,
Brings light to the darkness deep.
In harsh valleys such as these,
The weak, stumbling footsteps keep.
And stays the raging Jordan’s flow
To open ways you may not know.

8.Your desert rock and your shade
On rough mountain paths are made.
And gladsome star to light your night
Are brightly lit by his love bright.

So climb your tall mountain high,
And forge the deep valleys low.
And though your paths through deserts lie,
And rushing streams may overflow.
And in your night when hope seem gone,
Reach for your light and hail the dawn.
