Judi & Me Poem by Howard Camner

Judi & Me

I wiggle my fingers like they're people
only smarter
and she laughs to clear the clouds

we try to catch diamonds that fall
and look for letters in rainbows

then we cross bridges and beat pinatas
till they spill their sins

we twist balloons and play ball
inside museums
where it's frowned upon like it's a crime

and when fairy tales falter
when a kiss won't last
we thumb-wrestle before she goes to sleep

and she always lets me win
