Just A Dream Poem by Dana Allen Crenshaw

Just A Dream

When I was young I heard the stories
you told I didn't know if they were new
or old many years have past since
but the story I still hear as I watch
fathers and sons mothers and daughters
as they drive across U.S. together and I
wonder I drive alone day after day
mile after mile I only wish you had
took time to say I'm proud of you
As the sun shall set in the west I will
lay my body to rest for this day is
done then the dreams will come the
dream I wished I'll see just one
run with you when morning comes
and the rain falls from the sky so shall
the tears flow from my eyes for it
will always be just a dream.
