Just A Fantasy Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Just A Fantasy

Rating: 4.0

The sun went into hiding
Cold breezes touched my hair
On the day he went away
And left me crying there.
Down to the sea I wandered,
Still feeling sad and blue;
I waited until moonlight
When passers-by were few.
Discarding my top clothing
I swam out with the tide
To a little dreamy island
Only ten miles wide.
There, I met a sea captain
I told him all my woes.
He said 'forget your troubles
that's the way life goes'.
He'd also lost his true love,
She'd tossed him overboard...
How pleased was he to meet me,
A new life lay in store!
So early the next morning
We swam home with the tide
The sun was bright and beautiful
Now he's a groom and I'm his bride.
