Just a Word
Love is nothing but a word
It has no meaning to it anymore
Children say it knowing nothing of it
it use to make lives, what it does now im not sure
Love is nothing but a word
People say it means everything
but i can tell its just a word
it leaves people crying, dieing in pain its nothing...
Hate is nothing but a word
It has no meaning to it anymore
Children say it knowing nothing of it
It used to take lives, what it does now im not sure
Hate is nothing but a word
People say it to make others feel bad
all it is is a word though
it leaves people crying, in pain its makes them sad
Two words meant the world but now they are lost
The young people dont understand
It means a lot and they are throwing it away
they dont see the future in their hand...

What is in a name? A rose smells rose even if it is called by any other name.
Just like this love and hate are two words, but behind these two there is a heart that feels for both. So, it is the feeling that counts and not the words. In English language it is 'Love', but this word differs in other languages. So, the word is not important here, only the feelings behind the word that counts. You have well done.
Well done. I can truly appreciate the loss of meaning in these words (and many others) . Not all people just 'go through the motions' though - there are still a few that mean what they say. Telling the difference is the problem. This poem challenges the reader to examine their own sincerity. Very good.
