Just Feeling Good Poem by Frederick Francis

Just Feeling Good

When I wander through my world there’s beauty all around.
If people have trouble seeing it, I wonder if their mind is sound.
It is not in small things that require close attention,
It’s so obvious and in your face I feel I need not mention

For this simple observation, please don’t think me profound.
In my world beauty’d tip the scale if it were measured by the pound.

A smile on her face makes the air bind in my chest.
I try to smile back but my mind is halted at best.
Her eyes are so soft, like her voice or her skin.
If I look into them too long I fear falling in.

But it’s so much more then the surface, it’s not just skin deep.
In our world these days aesthetics are cheap.
No matter where you’re looking, brilliance is difficult to find.
Even rarer still is both an exterior and a beautiful mind.

To say we're so alike is total flattery to me.
I don’t need to explain why, it’s easy to see.
One thing I want to do more is hear the sounds of her laughter.
Spend my whole day with you and collapse with you after.

I am curious now, of where this will lead.
I was weighted down so much, with you I feel freed.
My goal in life has been to always be happy
Sorry about the poem I know it was sappy.
