Just For Awhile Poem by Missy Anna

Just For Awhile

(Dedicated to all my friends)

I leave you for awhile,
Into the silent land I pile,
Take this kiss upon your brow,
As I stand amid the sorrow,
And I hold within my hand,
Friendship grains of the golden sand

O’ how it hurts to see they creep,
Through my fingers while I weep,
O’ god can I not grasp?
Your sand of care with a tighter clasp

When you can’t hold me by hand,
Only remember, don’t grieve my friend,
Look below as you might see,
The golden sand is there to be

Don’t stand at my grave and forever weep,
I’m not there, I don’t sleep,
I’m the wind that blows through your cheek,
I’m the star that you can always seek…

Don’t stand at my grave and forever cry,
I’m not there, I don’t die,
For I’ll be gone just for awhile,
Better by far remember and smile…
