When I lay my head down
My door
will be unlocked
I long for you to come

Underneath my pillow
In the cool darkness
My fingers will be crossed

Come now into my life
I give it all to you
Ascend to me my love

Stop not upon the stairs
Creak and creak they may
I’m waiting up for you

If you make it to my side
And find me fast asleep
Slide softly in beside me

And smile
With secret knowledge
That I’ve slept all night with you
