Just Me Poem by Rosemary Monahan

Just Me

Rating: 4.0

No one sees me for me
Who I am, what I can do, who I can be
They see me as another's
wife, sister or daughter
I want someone to see me
The me without another before me
I don't just want to be
My husband's wife
My brother's sister
My mother's daughter
I don't want to be just someone's other
Please, someone see me as me.

(1992)

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I'm not a selfish person. I'm very caring of people but just once in a while I like to be seen as just me.
