Just Words Poem by geraldine roux

Just Words

Changes what a wonderful word
The opportunity to justify yourself
The chance to make it worth my while
Just a pity it's all just words

Backed up by nothing but your conscience
The chance to pull me back in
To take my dreams and make them true
Saying everything I want to hear
Making me feel like you finally see me
Just a pity it's all just words

Touching my heart with promises
Making me see the rainbows
Realizing what you lost
Just a pity it's all just words

Opening my eyes to possibilities
Making me believe again
In happy endings, sunshine days
The feeling of magic
Just a pity it's all just words

Is it so difficult to catch me
When I fall down
Is it so hard to just be there
When I need you
Saying all the right words
Making all the right moves
Making me doubt my head
And follow my heart again
Just a Pity it's all just words

Empty promises with no substance
Lies spoken so easily
To get what you want
Always looking out for yourself
Just a Pity it's all just words

Its so easy to make me smile
Its so easy to make my day
Yet you choose to make me cry
You choose to take everything
All that I am and will ever be
Pity that you do that just with words

I would easily give you all I am
I would forsake myself for you
I would walk a million miles
For your happiness
Pity your empty words are all I'm worth

I would lay down all I believe
And give you another chance
I would forget I have a head
I would forget what you have done
I would put myself at your feet
I would move blindly into you
Pity that it's only empty words
