Justice Poem by Odhiambo Gilbert Francis

Justice

Rating: 4.5

Attempts at justice go boink
Peace grating down people's throats
Restrained calm, or else...

Anger concealed in every heart
Vampire smile is made art
Till temper ruptures its limit
Oh, blood will flow in a minute!

(with Emerenziana O., March 2013)

Within 20 minutes of the five minute March 30th,2013 Supreme Court presidential election petition ruling, my friend, Emerenziana Oduor sent me a message (stanza 1) and I wrote her a reply (Stanza 2) . That evening, the police shot and killed five citizens who were demonstrating against the ruling.
